Message from President, World Abillitysport

Dear athletes, coaches, volunteers and participants of the 2025
World Para Fencing Satellite Competition.

Welcome to Hong Kong, China!

World Abilitysport is delighted to be here as part of the
development of Para fencing in Hong Kong and Asia more widely.

Since Tokyo 2020 we have seen the sport grow in the region
However we must recognise also that the hosts of this Satellite
Competition have been at the forefront of Para fencing for many
years and are one of the most developed countries on the global stage.

We hope very much that the competition enhances the work they are doing and offers new athletes the chance to compete on an international stage, at home, as well as for all participants.

Satellite Competitions are an important pathway to events such as the World Cup, regional and
World Championships and we want them to be the very start of the journey to the Paralympic
Games.

On behalf of World Abilitysport, I would like to thank all the athletes, teams, coaches and officials for their support of Para fencing and wish you all the very best of luck for the competition.

Mr. Rudi Van den ABBEELE
President, World Abilitysport
